CLOUD PLATFORM ENGINEERWe are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to support the design, deployment, and optimization of virtualized environments powering our cloud-native 5G infrastructure. This long-term contract, on-site role in Littleton (M-F) involves hands-on work with technologies such as VMware, Wind River, and OpenStack, with a strong focus on automation, scalability, and operational efficiency.Must Have Skills:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience7+ years of experience in virtualization technologies, including VMware (ESXi, vSphere), OpenStack, and Wind RiverHands on KubeVirt experienceHands-on experience with bare-metal and virtualized deployments of cloud infrastructureSolid understanding of cluster management, resource allocation, and virtual networking in a distributed environment6+ years of experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, GitLab, Jenkins, or equivalentProficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation and operational improvementsNice to Have Skills:Experience with VMware Cloud (VMC) on AWS and hybrid cloud deploymentsFamiliarity with Kubernetes and cloud-native technologiesUnderstanding of software-defined networking (SDN) and virtualized network functions (VNF)Strong experience with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, FluentBit, ELK Stack) for virtualized environmentsDay to day responsibilities:Virtualization & Cloud Infrastructure:Deploy, configure, and manage highly virtualized environments using VMware ESXi, vSphere, OpenStack, and Wind RiverAssist in the design and implementation of scalable, fault-tolerant virtual infrastructure across multiple data centersSupport the development and maintenance of virtualization frameworks, optimizing resource allocation, performance, and capacity planningAutomation & Efficiency:Develop and enhance automation for provisioning, monitoring, and managing virtual infrastructure using Ansible, Terraform, and JenkinsSupport zero-touch provisioning (ZTP) and automated recovery processes to ensure high availabilityIdentify and implement optimizations to improve performance while reducing operational overheadCollaboration & Technical Guidance:Work cross-functionally with cloud, networking, and software teams to ensure seamless platform integrationProvide guidance on best practices for virtualization and automationParticipate in knowledge-sharing activities, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to technical documentationOperations & Monitoring:Monitor and troubleshoot virtual environments to proactively address performance bottlenecks and system failuresAssist in backup, disaster recovery, and failover strategies to enhance system resilienceImplement automated responses to incidents to minimize manual interventionDocumentation & Standards:Contribute to defining and maintaining best practices for virtualization and automation processesMaintain detailed documentation of infrastructure configurations and proceduresTSG is an equal opportunity employer.
