About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its Council on Developmental Disabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing regular communication on various issues and activities to Council members, as well as assisting in the planning, development, and implementation of a 5-year plan. This role involves developing recommendations and strategies to enhance the independence, productivity, and integration of individuals with developmental disabilities. The Executive Director will also oversee the Council's staff, programs, and activities to ensure that goals are met and member needs are addressed. Essential functions include representing the Council in maintaining effective relationships with state agencies, advocacy organizations, and other stakeholders, as well as managing the budget and providing constituent assistance services.

Applicants for the Executive Director position should have a background in human services, planning, or administration, with a preference for a bachelor's degree in a related field. Professional experience in the human services sector, particularly in areas such as policy analysis, advocacy, research, and grants management, is highly valued. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of best practices in developmental disabilities services, relevant state and federal laws, and the state system for providing support to individuals with developmental disabilities. Skills in management, leadership, communication, and problem-solving are essential, as is the ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders, including families, individuals with disabilities, and advocacy organizations.
