JOB SUMMARY

The Construction Surveillance Technician (CST) plays a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of high-profile construction projects. As a CST, your primary responsibility will be to monitor personnel and activities to prevent the installation of electronic eavesdropping equipment and unauthorized materials during the construction process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Engage with construction workers and monitor their tasks to ensure compliance with security protocols.
  • Screen all materials and equipment for potential security threats, utilizing approved examination methods.
  • Operate inspection equipment effectively to maintain strict security standards.
  • Apply knowledge of construction disciplines and engineering principles to identify security risks.
  • Analyze designs and blueprints for compliance and potential vulnerabilities.
  • Familiarize yourself with Intelligence Community Directive 705 (ICD 705) standards and technical surveillance countermeasures (TSCM).
  • Write detailed reports highlighting security findings and actions taken.
  • Maintain daily logs documenting security operations and observations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance and maintain required security clearances.

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Two years of experience in construction security projects for the U.S. Government.
  • Completion of a U.S. Government-approved CST training program.
  • Prior experience on construction projects is preferred.

Background Prerequisites

Must pass a background check, substance testing, and other required evaluations according to company standards.

WORKING CONDITIONS (Physical/Mental Demands)

The position requires physical and mental stamina to perform essential functions, such as:

  • Maintaining composure in high-stress situations.
  • Working overtime as needed.
  • Standing, walking, and moving for extended periods, sometimes on uneven terrain.
  • Lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
  • Using vehicles as part of job duties.
  • Possibly working in inclement weather or wearing safety gear.
  • Handling sensitive and confidential information.
