This position serves as the Supervisor/ Managing Attorney for the Office of the State Public Defender (OSPD) field office in the First Judicial District, with the primary office located in Cheyenne, Laramie County. This role provides both advanced legal representation and strategic leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality defense services to indigent clients. The Managing Attorney carries a demanding caseload that includes serious and violent felony matters, representing clients at all stages of the criminal justice process. In addition, this position is responsible for supervising attorneys, staff, and contractors, ensuring effective case management, professional development, and adherence to constitutional standards and agency policies. This role requires regular travel throughout the district to support client representation and fulfill supervisory responsibilities.
