The Part-Time Court Security Deputy is a specialized position within the Laramie County Sheriff's Office. Responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the Court Complex by supervising inmates, supporting court operations, managing courthouse access points, and delivering exemplary public service to staff, elected officials, Judges, attorneys, and visitors.

Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of Wyoming State statutes, criminal codes, and correctional procedures. Knowledge of court operations, legal documentation, and inmate transport protocols. Knowledge of use-of-force policies, emergency procedures, courtroom security methods. Knowledge of screening equipment and courtroom technology platforms. Ability to de-escalate conflict, write reports and maintain situational awareness. Ability to interact with all individuals with professionalism, discretion, and integrity. Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain composed in high-pressure situations. Ability to maintain professional demeanor, sound judgment, situational awareness, and the ability to act decisively in both routine and emergent circumstances. Ability to handle stressful hostile environments, including verbal confrontation or physical altercations with the public. Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor conditions across multiple levels of the courthouse. Ability to have effective interpersonal communication skills and team collaboration under dynamic conditions. Ability to conduct searches, respond to emergencies, and physically restrain individuals if necessary. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent; must pass a thorough background investigation polygraph, psych and medical exam.; must have a current Peace or Detention Officer Certification from Wyoming POST or have the eligibility to challenge the mini basic or detention academy; must have a valid driver's license.
