OverviewErgon Asphalt & Emulsions, Inc., located in Cheyenne, WY, is seeking a Lab Technician for our manufacturing facility.ResponsibilitiesWill train under present lab technician for eventual assignment to a lab technicianDevelop and optimize laboratory methodologies for testing petroleum productsCollaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve operational issuesDocument experimental procedures, results and analytical data in compliance with quality management standardsProvide special, non-routine analytical support for research, process, and operationsAssist in maintaining an internal audit program for testing procedures, calibrations, calibration verifications and results reportingAssist in maintaining calibration and maintenance documents for instrumentationGenerate laboratory data reports as necessary for product quality and regulatory complianceEnsure laboratory safety protocols are adhered to and promote a culture of safety within the teamRespond in off-hours if needed to assist with critical equipment and testingPerform physical and analytical tests, as requiredProduce sample batches for testing, 1-20 gallonsPrepare product sample requestsFill sample batches for shippingObtain samples of raw materials from plant for lab useKeep the working area cleanHandling hazardous material as requiredQuality control — perform general quality control functions and testingAny other duties assigned by Lab Technician and Facility ManagerQualificationsHigh school diploma (or GED) and/or laboratory experienceGood math skillsAble to lift and handle up to 50 lbs.Able to accurately work with various instruments of measurementAble to learn sampling and test methodsAble to learn computer skillsAble to read and follow written instructions and work well with othersAble to work without direct supervision, good communication skillsApplicants must be authorized to work in the US and have a valid driver's licenseAny employment offers are contingent upon a pre-employment drug test and background checkErgon is an EEO/AAP Employer.#J-18808-Ljbffr
